Because theres loads of peeps on here wanting to do the conversion, but havin problems finding out what parts to use,as for your van yes you can put pas on it.

Rhys 19-08-2008 08:53 PM

annika 19-08-2008 10:08 PM

there is also a sticker under the bonnet with the name and phone number for the people who installed the pas

cozzfather 19-08-2008 10:25 PM

iirc they were s.v.o special vehicle order, same as auto cosworth or a bomb proof transit etc

purple_fiesta 19-08-2008 10:27 PM

pah your ruining it imo, sell it on im sure you would make a nice amount on it.

Glenn_ 20-08-2008 06:36 AM

Very nice car.Just leave it as it is, its to nice to mess about with it. Any look with the photos of the pas cause im interested too.

dunketh 20-08-2008 08:32 AM

Always makes me laugh what you can get on mobility.

Its a step up from a metro 'chairman'.

I often see Cilicas and the like with blue badges in them. Go Timmy!:top:

cabrio zo 20-08-2008 09:31 AM

Nice find, I wouldn't mind another XR3i as a daily runner, there are less XR's now than RS's, we all thought they were shite back in the day and scrapped them!

Kam B 20-08-2008 09:56 AM

believe me it would sell!

Shame to ruin a rare car

XRT_si 20-08-2008 09:59 AM

Does seem a shame to pull it apart just to re-shell it, as above - thats what 1.1s are for!

Ginge ! 20-08-2008 10:03 AM

easier with a xr3i for the tank and linkage ect ect ect

also get sunroof ect too

may be rare but how HONESLTY wants a automatic xr3i ???

the missus old man used to have a auto xr3i cabrio with power steering too,, he couldnt sell it at all and he also had a cabrio illusion kit for it too not fitted all arches ect

XRT_si 20-08-2008 10:06 AM

Mate there's someone for every car. Who wants to concours a XR2i? Still happens!

Munch 20-08-2008 10:07 AM

bingo!

Ginge ! 20-08-2008 10:10 AM

mate a auto sports car,,,,, think about that for a moment

what sort of market are looking for these ?

the missus old man had hes for sale for a YEAR before he got rid of it for 400 quid

theres a market,,,, but im sure others would rather do without than spend loads of money

how many good condition 1300 escorts are being looked for ?

just cause its up for sale at a price dont mean someone will buy it at that

dunketh 20-08-2008 10:17 AM

I think its a shame to ruin the 'package'.
A 3i will be relatively economical and make for a very good reliable daily hack, especially with the PAS.
The only downside is the auto - but in some peoples books that makes it an even better stop-start town car.

An RS with PAS would be cool though, but for different reasons, so its swings and roundy things I suppose...

Munch 20-08-2008 10:18 AM

Loads of people Ginge, some people have a disabilities where they can not drive a Manual car, its like that Auto Cossie, People do buy them!

someone with that will get a car on motorbility though, cost 100 a month, brand new car, no insurance ect

OR drive a old MK4 escort xr3i ???

its a VERY small market,,, infact i dont see ANY of you lot asking to buy it for 1500 quid,,,,, infact how many ACTUALLY would buy it ?

NATH-RSZT 20-08-2008 10:33 AM

still no pics of the pas.

annika 20-08-2008 10:36 AM

to be honest, it might be unusual,

but its a MINT shell for 325quid.

and if its so special, should i leave the wheel chair mounts and raised seat witht the ball that goeas on the steering wheel.

who many saphys get cut up for cossie conversions on other vechiles?
tbh, back when these where around no one really wanted one.

annika 20-08-2008 11:42 AM

i dont see what the fuss is all about, why not use it as a shell to re-shell and RST into, its rot free and the right colour, who on earth wants an xr3i with an outo box?
