Default flat battery

hi people maybe im thick just got the cossy out and yes the battery was flat so charged up it a new battery brought last year plus done the alternator just gone to the car and it just about start up so is the battery shag or have i got a dodge earth do you guys have similar problem any help would be good

If a battery is left long enough flat it will kill it, though some are better than others in this respect.
Try a battery of another car, or take yours and get it rapid discharge tested.

you need to have a drop test done on the battery and also check what your charge rate is. that will pin point the problem.

Just check the amps draw with the engine not running. Anything over 0.5 amps will soon drain the battery.

Disconect the live wire and with a meter (set to amps) between the end of the cable and the battery post

yes i change the alternator last year but i changed the battery first and drive the car for about three month and was stil getting flat battery so check again and found it was my altenator so this year same battery was flat again as it been away for winter so charged up battery but it go flat if i leave car for a day or two so is the battery dead as wont hold charge

i was hoping it was the battery as i let it run flat a few time as altenator wasnt working and maybe has a few dead cell in battery so that why it wont hold charge well i got a new battery and will have to get a mutimeter
