Default Stolen RST

Quite a few months ago one of my mates had his RST stolen off his driveway.

It was in pretty bad shape (rotten) and was going to be broken for parts but as it was stolen this didnt happen.

What i was wondering is what would have done with it assuming they stripped all the salvagable parts then they surley they would have to have dispossed of the shell, but police never found it??

Has anyone got any ideas?? Surely they wouldnt have kept it??

Do they not check the cars before they are scraped?

not really as most times they are squashed beyond recognition.

no one is going to look for chassis numbers etc....

They should be documented. By with the amount of business they put their way, Pikeys and Scrap metal processors are usually good buddies.

A bit like Taxi drivers and 2nd hand Mobile phone dealers.

again dave beat me but who gona have time to find chassis bnumber when all they do is either beat it with sledge hammers to make it look like it been in a heavy crash or just fill it full of other rubbish as a sereis 2 shell without body kit just looks like a mk4 escort ie nothing special

It was probably cut up into small managable parts and disposed of in various places...fields, dustbins, ally's etc...easiest way to get rid of a shell if the fraggy (metal man) wont take it without a V5

In my experience scrappies will take stuff without the V5 if they know you well enough. They just dont pay you for the scrap.

they record the weight you then empty the said transport and go collect the money!
