Default quick DVD question..

as my player already plays copied discs, does that mean it will also play region 1 discs? i have no idea

Many players will play region free (region 0) films, of which virtually all copied discs are, but that doesn't mean it will play R1 discs.... Best bet is to borrow an R1 disc and try it.....

Many DVD players will play all regions.... All you have to do is put a hack in. Just type in you dvd make and model in google followed by hack. Someone will list the hack for it... as long as its not a Toshibas that is.

I have had a few players and normally you enter a code on the remote control and away you go.. piece of piss

Any one with a Big TV/ Plasma notice that the region 1 picture quality is dog shit If the camera is panning the pic seem to jump in steps to try to keep up

I won't buy region 1 DVD's any more for that reason

Not true on the Toshiba's now. Bought a Ł30 one in tesco not long back and there was a hack on the web for that one.

Just find the make and model and search for the region hack on the web.

Thats down to picture format - R1 discs are encoded in NTSC and R2 are PAL. To get the best from a R1 disc you need to be outputting your DVD to the TV in progressive scan which will cure a lot of "judder"...
