Rolling Road Problems
I've been to a rolling road today for a power run, and it only hit 134bhp @5300rpm....
This is with a K&N panel filter, Ashley manifolds, and Ashley exhaust system.
(I was hoping for more like 170 with this set up, but there you go!)
The graph looks smooth until it hits 100bhp @ 3600rpm, then it starts going
up and down, at the same revs, the torque jumps about 15lbft, then goes
on a similar rollercoaster ride as the bhp line... Torque caps at 145lbft @ 4250rpm.
I'm getting good even compression, and the spark is fine, CO is running at 0.21%
The guy that did the run said it was more than likely the fuel warm up regulator....
Does anyone here know of anything else that might be causing this?
!!! DEPOSIT KNOWLEDGE BELOW !!!
Help an ageing V6 perform to her potential, please.

I will try and find out.
There is a guy on interford.co.uk called FBA 2933 or somthing who has made 190 bhp from a 2.8, but the thing is wild it has ferrari injectors and stuff.
pop on there they will sort you out

It only revved to 5300?? Or is that where he stopped the run due to no more power being produced??
If it should rev to 6500 say, then the difference between 5300 and 6500 could easily be the bit you lost.
The unstable Torque curve could be a number of things, not only down to the car, but could be a problem with the Rolling Road too.

as per christian...
if he incorrectly typed in the speed vs rpm thing into the computer then this would affect the bhp produced (as its a caulculated reading)
however shouldnt affect torque... and yoursis making bugger all torque!
i'd deffo have it setup and checked out on load by a pro (not that i know of anywhere thats good with XR4is
) to make sure the basics are ok 1st...

I had it set up by Coventry tuning before I changed the manifolds and zorst, and the guy tere is pretty good with cologne's, but he aint got a rolling road there.... could it be that I'm losing the power from that setup? I'm gonna go back to the guy at Hi-Tech and get a setup from him, I reckon... He's just sorted my m8 James's RST, and got him 161bhp on a standard car with a K&N!
