they are always flipping volvos and vauxhalls

If you type the reg plate of the Corgi Saph beside the jeep (J124 FSR) into HPI it shows up Sierra Saphire Cosworth 4X4. Model must have been based on a real car.

 

I thought those RS200 pics were just publicity photos, don't think they ever used them for real...

 

I've still got that video "Blues and Twos" following the Police Escort Cosworth. They've got a top spec Senator as well if I remember correctly.

torquay had a 2d and a early4x4 when i lived there in my younger years the 2wd lasted 4 days spun out and collected some traffic lights and a garden wall the 4x4 lasted 2 weeks ebded up on its roof down the seafront they never got replacements had to caryy on chasing us in there escort denzels as before lol

What was x-cars exaclty ,i think it was before my time.

 

thinking about it,i remember some white 4x4's came over from the isle of man
they were MAN#### numberplates, may explain why it doesn't
ring any bells, iirc they were going on k plates

I was serving in Northumbria when we had the Sierra Cosworths and Escort Cosworths. Cracking cars but they were forever in workshops as they were being driven hard 24 hours a day , seven days a week.

I'd prefer to be driving a Cosworth in a pursuit than the Volvo's we have now.

Doesnt need a complete roof change for a sunroof, can just have one installed. My dad had one put in our sierra but it was only a tilt one (all he wanted it for anyway) instead of a tilt and slide.

 

Police lights covered the whole sunroof if you look on original pics.

Had,nt had a roof change as you could see where the ariels had been if you looked real close.

The pop out side windows had been fitted by pevious owner.

Cumbria police had 3 Sapphires, I know one definetly got wrote off. They then had 2 or 3 Escort Cosworths. My father in law was a police mechanic and last he heard one Escort is still sat in the corner of the Police garage with a blown engine. They,ve got Skoda Octavias and Evo 9's now, think the guy who buys the cars must be a rally fan.

 

Send him to B/pool.. all we have here is Vauxhalls Oh maybe a odd ford, but its a transit!

i had a ex police car 2 years ago in white no sunroof on a K reg you could still make out in places were the stickers had been
and also it must have been in some battles due too it haveing front wings and a back quater

round my end a few years ago the police had an unmarked smokestone blue saph cosworth in the bolton area in lancashire
and a marked astra gte 16v

 

South Yorkshire had 5 Saff 4x4s on J, K reg and i know 2 got written off in ram raid pursuits.

Hello and Merry Christmas,

Yes, its a real Luxembourg police car that was used in daily police service by the highway patrol police.
But not yet today, it was the former Gendarmerie Forces who used it. Now we have only one Police.
