internet explorer 7

looks good so far, but it's a bit out of focus

anyone else go tit?

Eagle 14-11-2006 11:01 AM

yeah ... go tit the other day ...

still cant decide on it ... it changes the font to summit else when it installs .. cant decide on if i like it or not tho...

dojj 14-11-2006 11:09 AM

i tell you one thing, passionford loads up super quick on it so it must be doing something right :)

and i like the way the different pages are listed at the top rather than cluttering up the tool bar at the bottom :)

it's better i lots of ways, but it's going to get osme getting used to, which i owuld say is going to be the main stumbling block

It's Czech Mate 14-11-2006 11:33 AM

Much Better. I love it. Only one Ie open on the toolbar, if you set it properly EVERYTHING will open in a new tab in the same window, and I love the summary tab

Theres a lot more features to it than that too :top:

dojj 14-11-2006 11:37 AM

sounds like bills earning his money then :)

Glen1909 14-11-2006 12:56 PM

Fast Guy 14-11-2006 04:23 PM

I go tit a couple of weeks ago. I don't realy use it, but the MSN Explorer I do use is a modified version of it and I've been getting quite a few "page cannot be displayed" errors since installing it. I've never had one before. "Page not found" - Yes, but not "not displayed" :?

The Windows Update website

Zetec Andy 14-11-2006 05:45 PM

found it now :top:

Jim Galbally 14-11-2006 05:47 PM

it enables ClearType fonts in IE windows when it installs. these have been available in XP powertools since day dot, but not many people realise and install them

and yes, as of Nov 1st Windows update will install IE7 :top:

altho thats not so great in a corporate environment where laptop users download it themselves and then wonder why half their legacy webbased apps don't work

dojj 14-11-2006 06:34 PM

i'm sure you'll explain what all that means jim :)

Its the damm soft edges on the font makes me eyes feel like the don't wanna focus

Thrush 14-11-2006 07:40 PM

TOOLS > INTERNET OPTIONS

Click the ADVANCED tab, scroll down and tick/untick "ALWAYS USE CLEARTYPE FOR HTML" as desired....

Won't bother to explain what it does, as it will be self explanatory when you turn it on and off a couple times

(PS, you need to open a new window after changing that setting each time to get the change in appearence)

adamS2RST 14-11-2006 07:42 PM

Had it a few months..from when the first beta was released. Like it, hate IE6 now  :top:

done that
still fuxxy :(

Thrush 14-11-2006 07:58 PM

Then I don't know Dojj - I have IE7 and mines not fuzzy. Have you done an auto adjust on your monitor? Most monitors have a button combo for this (mine is pressing the + and - buttons on it at the same time) as that might help (one day all my text went fuzzy (back in IE6 some time ago) and this sorted it all out)

I did this and it worked (cheers Thrush)

Did you really close and re-open IE?

Thrush 14-11-2006 09:03 PM

It worked for you did it Steve? Thought it would - not sure why it hasn't worked for Dojj, but I suspect it might have something to do with pills

Zetec Andy 14-11-2006 09:26 PM

dojj 14-11-2006 09:28 PM

Mark V8 14-11-2006 09:36 PM

I'm running it on a digital LCD screen 1280 x 1024 and it still looks fuzzy even after running the windows diagnostic tool

http://www.microsoft.com/typography/...ner/Step1.aspx

I love the new features but the text looks like I've had 6 pints of Stella :?

Mark

Thrush 14-11-2006 09:43 PM

Mark - I am on LCD @ 1280x1024 aswell, and it looks fine.... :? :? :?
