2wd sapphire cosworth valuation?

Im looking to get an approx valuation on a sierra.

Its an F reg 2wd cosworth in white. Its got a cloth interior which is immaculate. Uncracked dash. Its had a recent engine rebuild with a long studded 200 block conversion. Its forged, group a breather, rs500 intercooler, hybrid T3, dark greens. And has full water and boost silicones and other alloy tanks etc.

Body work wise, its an unwelded, unpainted, original paneled car.

Downside it will be sold on the hubs (i will be bringing wheels) and has no tax or mot. Though its been dry stored the last 1.5yrs in amongst a collection.

Before it came off the road, it was rolling roaded at 355bhp.

Realistically, what is the top money for the car??

opposite lock 19-10-2013 06:39 PM

Depends if it has good history behind it honest mileage , sounds like a nice car . Its in the detail having a nice looking interior with a standard ish engine bay along with good chassis rails etc . I,ll have a stab at 7.5k but they are such a varied condition car its hard to say really.

Maxwell 19-10-2013 06:52 PM

Yeah it has a hell of alot of history with it too!! And i think it has around 69k. It is a nice car and has wanted for nothing!! But alot of things where changed for taste!!

Been offered it in a deal with my bmw!! So trying to work out what money is gonna be changing hands!!

james kiely 19-10-2013 08:21 PM

john i would say about 6.5k ,sounds a goodun:grin:

dean9595 19-10-2013 08:29 PM

Tbh it's down to each to there own on how much there willing to pay for a car one person could say 6k the other might say 6.5k the next could say 4k to value a car it really is down to what you want to pay for it

Maxwell 19-10-2013 08:38 PM

I know what you mean Dean. But i truly dont know how much 2wd cloth sapphires go for in the real world. Not the tinterweb. But im using the tinterweb to find out by realistic cossie owners what they are worth.

This one being stood 1.5yrs and no tax or test (or wheels)....i really dunno its value!!

Cosworth Lad 19-10-2013 08:45 PM

Hi mate my mates bought a F reg magenta last week its got 66k mint condition front bumper needs paint due to stonechips completely std bar stage 1 chip exhaust he paid 5k if thats any help.

Cosworth Lad 19-10-2013 08:46 PM

I can put a pic up if you like?

dean9595 19-10-2013 08:49 PM

I've got mine up for sale , I know it's not a 2wd but maybe somthing for you to go by
When I was looking I looked at adds on here and the rs owners club and other web sites together a rough idea of values and specs to give me a idea on how much .i bough mine for a sum some may think was too high but I'm my eyes was a good buy as it was every think I was after , although I was really after a magenta red sapph lol

Maxwell 19-10-2013 08:50 PM

Its fine cosworth lad. Going by the figures so far, it seems im getting a bargain.

I just thought cloth ones wouldnt make as much as leather ones!!

Cheers

I bought mint leather for mine for £300

Maxwell 19-10-2013 08:56 PM

Aye but it means changing the dash etc too. Fuck that!! Lol.

But as i say, im getting the best money i will get for my 330d in the deal. So all in all, im onto a win!! :)

Cheers

james kiely 19-10-2013 09:00 PM

a mint cloth interior is way harder to find john as leather can be restored unlike cloth.

has it got the original light grey cloth?

I can take it as it is (all blingy and the std stuff in the boot) for top money. Or i can have it with standard stuff for alot less!! But im more swayed keeping blingy bits - grp a filter, grp a breather, alloy header tank, silicones, airtec rs500 fmic and alloy rad, gaz gold gha coilies etc.

Cosworth Lad 19-10-2013 09:10 PM

yeah iv got a white 4x4 with black leather does look good though cant nock it but my mates mgenta does look good aswell 2wd cloth 4x4 leather that way there worth more,

Will it go through an MOT as it doesn't have one??
Could be bargaining tool along with having no wheels.
Has it been maintained whilst off the road for 1.5 years or will it need recomissioning??
Could be good, could be expensive.
I wouldn't pay more than 5k with not MOT etc as plenty around
But it is all down to personal opinion and each individual car

Very valid points mate!!

Its been polybushed and like i say its been stood 1.5yrs. Inside a dry shed...not just an old farm shed. But amongst a collection in a proper nice shed!!

Knowing its current owner, im sure its got the love and attention its always got - on the road or off!!

It was stored as he literally had no storage at his own abode and he was busy with his extreme sports. So his funding was being used elsewhere (opposed to running a cossie on the road)

And i can have it on wheels if i want...but jesus would cry if it seen the style of wheels on it lol

that is low mileage must have smelt all new though hey personally id perfer a white one much better colour but the darker colours have alot more detail in the bodywork.

I do. But as its not my car and as the owner is really reluctant to sell it, it would be unfair to upload pics!!

Personal reason are why its for sale and he knows i wanna cossie and he has always loved my bmw. Just like James Keily. But he wont part with fuck all!! Lol
