Prop shaft donut
I have a prop shaft donut on my Sierra Cos 4x4 that doesn't look good.. Does anybody know where to get a new one, or does anybody here have?
I've heard they are using the donut from Transit. Anybody tried that? |

A friend of mine is working at Ford in Norway, and he checked, and in Sweden they had one loose, but he didn't know what type of the two it was because there were no picture of it.. |

Is this a 4x4 item? None of my cosworth propshafts have them.
My XR4Ti stock propshaft had one but it's long gone since I switch the saff suspension/T5 etc. |

http://i260.photobucket.com/albums/i.../Bilde0099.jpg And here is the other type that is thinner, and has a bigger center-hole: http://i260.photobucket.com/albums/i...le/b6e1_35.jpg |
yeh early style , hard to find these days
|
All you need is the small front piece from a later style prop to use the smaller donut. I've done the conversion on my car and it works 100%
|
Would he not have to change the 3 bolts aswell

I'm i was fitting an escort box, so never paid attention to the bolts lol. I just matched the small section of prop to the box :)

Yeh you will need a late saff or esc cos front end of the rear prop to use the esc cos box .it has a hole in the center which will slide over the output shaft .

As above, easy to tell the difference, the earlier one is almost like a hexagonal shape, and the newer one on late saphs and escos is round. I bought the later type from Ford about a year ago for £70.
|
I have these in stock
used but in very good condition ( and i have both types ) |
Still haven't got it! Anybody who knows..?

I've had an adapter made up to use the later EsCos donut with the earlier propshaft.
The CNC machine settings have been saved so I can get more if needed. Just got to fit it and check all is well. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v1...c/P1040865.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v1...c/P1040877.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v1...c/P1040672.jpg |
Nice Mod :top:

ive ended up doing a similar conversion as Iain has, using the escort cossie donut,
fits fine and works well |
