Default How difficult is it to remove EGR manifold on the 2006 ford forcus 1.8 tdci ?

car - 2006 mk2 ford focus sport 1.8 TDCI.

Car was leaking oil due to loose upper turbo oil feed bolt, I cannot tighten it and have spent over 30 hours in the past 3 days (honestly !) on my own trying to tighten this turbo oil feed pipe bolt. I have tried many different ways of how to tighten it and I am at my absolute wits end, have had enough of it.

I am considering now removing the EGR + manifold ( they are integral) which I also think having to drop the exhaust manifold, remove the turbo e.t.c. and all I want to do is get 2-3 turns more on this screw ! (I don't know of any other way to do this)

I am no mechanic, have had no training but I have replaced several little things on it over recent months, mostly suspension.

any tips/advice greatly appreciated.

Regards

hi, thanks for your reply

I have a car repair manual but cannot find exactly what I am looking for, I just feel more confused following them.

On the 2006 1.8 tdci ford focus can the egr (and manifold, ) and also the exhaust manifold, can they be removed from the top or does it have to be from access under the car ??

thanks in advance

I've never worked on one, but I'm sure the Haynes manual covers it quite clearly.
