Default ST170 spacers

Hi,

I was just wondering, basically I want to tweak the set up of my ST170, lower it a little, stiffen the ride a bit, reduce the body roll, but...

Basically I find the 17" alloys are a little inset under the wheel arch, so is there a better way to bring the wheels out a little so they fill the arches more, especially the rears. I don't want to buy those cheap 5mm spacers that go behind the wheel.. so any advice ?

Regards Paul

What about proper hub centric spacers? They arent cheap but they work really well

Hubcentric spacers will be fine, however I think they will make the handling worse, it will bump steer more and will wear wheel bearings quicker.

Spacers will have exactly the same effect as different wheels with a lower offset. I've got hubcentric spacers on my ST, only because the RS wheels are a higher offset, so they need spacing out to get it right.

To be honest if you were to go 10mm or something I don't think you would notice on the road, but I would be inclined to leave it as is!

Cheers Richie, it was more for aesthetics than anything else, so I will leave it

I changed my high et standard wheels for et35 and fitted 25mm hubcentric spacers and it filled the arches nice and handled well tbh

As above, use hub spacers, ive got a set of these. The only issue youl have is if the rear subframe is corroded etc
