Hello, what's the maximum power that ST170 driveshafts (drive shafts ) have been known to handle? Reliably?

 

They will handle high Hp if in original length i.e not been cut and welded

 

a few used them on frs conversions to keep the width down saw one running 320bhp

 

I've had mine upto 320bhp, at the mo just under 300bhp.

RS engine / ST 6spd box / ST hubs and drive shafts.

Never had a problem.

 

I destroyed one on my ST with just bluefin but that was after 30k or driving it hard everywhere.

Ford originally thought it was some bearing in the gearbox but discovered it was the shaft when then went to remove the box.
