I recently fitted a new timing belt on my rs, set the marks up correctly and double checked it but it seams to stutter when coming on boost, I had the timing checked with a strobe light and set to factory spec, is the timing setting different for a modded engine? Mods are stainless system, k and n fillter, chip and 1 bar of boost.

Im having the same kind of issue mate.The car will need a set up unless you know the line up for your dizzy.Other whys you be guessing even with strobe light.

 

when the old belt was on the timing mark on the bottom pully wasnt on tdc, it was on the mark next to it on the left, the grey mark on the pic



when i fitted the new belt the mark was on tdc, first belt was non gen but the new one is gen ford

 

if every thing was at tdc i cant see the belt change causing a problem.get it to a tuner.imo
