Hi, can anyone tell me how you make a bad boy bonnet?
ive been searching the internet trying to find some eyebrows or plates to weld onto my bonnet, but cant seem to find anything Do you have to weld it on there yourself out of tin and filler it or is there another way????

tin & filler mate but please dont do it because its just sad & cheesey

 

as said above, its a very 90's thing to do mate. it dates the car horribly they just look tacky now.

or at the very least look on ebay for one already done.

 

as said m8 id leave bad boy bonnets where they belong, in the 90's with smoothed bumpers an delta bodykits lol

I'm not a fan but if you like them fair play, look on the bay for one or just grab a welder, grinder, some metal, and some filler, away you go!!

a nice set off wheels and thats all you need
unless you buy a corsa then i say do it and look like the rest of the muppets

thanks for replies, not doing it out of choice really, wanted to keep it as standard as possible, but the bonnet on it has had a smack and i was finding it hard to get a new one, ordered a brand new one off ebay and they kept turning up damaged, so a mate of a mate has got one, but he has started making a bad boy bonnet but its not finished, so im trying to find out how to finish it!!

Just a few bits of metal cut and welded in and filler to smooth the top over ,one thing i have noticed with them you have to have your headlamps wound right in the middle other wise they touch the bonnet (please note i have never fitted one to my cars lol) ,best bet if you still want one is to get a spare bonnet and do it to that

 

just read your reply ,if he has not finished it you may still get it back to standard

 

judging by the replies i might try and get it back to standard, im picking it up tomorrow so ill see how it looks then. didnt think id get such a strong response!!

 

hopefully he have not started the welding yet

 

its entirely up to u how u want it mate, if u want a standard 1 an your mate has already started the other 1 gis a pm i got 1 u can have, just so u dont ruin the looks, imo of course lol

 

cheers mate appreciate that iam going too have a look at it tomorrow from what my mate was saying he has put a plate on 1 side but i dont know how hes done it so ill see? its amazing been looking and trying too get 1 for about 2 months then 2 turn up!! ill let you no and will sort a price.

my xr3i had a bad boy bonnet on it when i bought the car,it looks the dogs bolux in ford diamond white, love it to bits!!

 

eh sorry to say this lol but the car is from the 90s i personally dont have it done but its not a bad or cheesy thing to do at all ive seen some cracking 90 specs with it done,it does look better with the 90 spec bumper cut and with front spoiler though @

 

Get it done they look fat! im tempted to graft 1 on my s1

its up to you mate if you like it get one fitted , as at the end of the day its your car and it would be a boring world if everyone was the same.

18 months on from the original post and yes bad boy bonnets are still as acceptable as slipping your sister a length
