Alternator?
Hi all,
Was fitting my new samco hoses to my car last night (coolant) after fitting them and filling the system back up I noticed there was quiet a loud sort of ticking noise coming from the alternator area, I had left my car interior light on and stereo for about 2 hours whilst working on the car (not normally a problem) It still started first time and didnt struggle or anything but just this noticable noise
Would this be the alt on it's way out? or something else?
Cheers for your help
Adam.

could be or did you slacken the belt off if so you my have done the alternater up to tight or if you had removed it totaly check you have done all the bolts up and that the botom ones are'nt lose as the alternator will move on the piss and it will be pulling the belt to one side strain in it
just worth a check as i've done the same thing in the pasted left the bottom one slightly lose and it brook the casing

Hi mate, na never touched the alt, didnt need too! Fitted the samcos and once I started it after that it was there, they aint catching on it or anything I cant see anything wrong.... I drove it again last night for a trek down to the womans and it sounds quieter. ITs a mint day outside so going to polish it soon, will see if it is still loud this morning Cheers mate
