16 valve turbo on Manual Fuel Injection

Does anyone know if a 16 valve turbo has been successfully run on standard RS turbo management or if at all possible?

Of course there would be problems such as attaching dzzy and suitable inlet manifold but I am sure they could be over come with some good engineering.

Would be interested in hearing others experiance or knowledge on the matter.

Cheers. :DD:

its cheaper and easyer to run efi, just need a late xr3i loow and it all wires up standard. potential for much more power with efi aswell, mfi is utter shit

utterly pointless conversion

got to agree there bud i couldnt c the point of going mfi ,

unless u have a full mfi setup and ur wanting to use i ?

if that was the case id go ze-vh with the 8v head off a s2

Cheers for the feedback lads.

I know what you meant about running it with mfi but if I get the engine built and running on mfi will just upgrade to cos or stand alone ecu etc l8.

Thanks fo that pic T28 rst, it has given inspiration, will get on with sourcing an engine to build now. Do you know any more about the car in the pic like did it run ok?

The car runs perfect, the conversion as done by AVA in 2003 :top:

It made 196@ the wheels with 9 PSI boost :top:

In the graph it peaks 12 PSI and makes it peak power with 9 PSI :top:

its on the other side of the block at the front, looks like it works off the same principle as the normal mfi dizzy by lining up with the front cam- tis twim cam don't forget- as thats the side of a zetec the timing is usually setup from in a n/a zetec.
looks like a very well thought out conversion i bet it drives lovely

It's cheaper and easier to run a MFI. Especially if you want more power ;)
Think what you like to.

But both must be set up properly for the 16V!

There's another possibility to attach the dizzy:
