If you d lock you can't enable the Dead locking. I always use the key to dead lock then arm the alarm. If you just use the alarm it only locks not Dead lock. Def the case on the ST not sure about the BT.

as above the deadlocks don't work when de-locked.

plus, if no door locks then they'll just go for the boot lock or bust a window.

if they want it that bad then nowt you do will stop em.

i've never used the dead locking.

does it enable everytime you lock it with the key or have you got to lock it a certain way.

Turn the key left then right, not sure if its the case on the BT. You'll hear the dead locking working.

really, i wasn't aware that could be done. on a small escort you have to turn the key to left then hold over to right for 2 seconds to push the deadlocks over.

You can enable the deadlocking via a remote but many alarm companies are reluctant to tamper with it as if the alarm becomes active it can lock you in the car. You could probably get it to work with another pair of relays that switch the deadlocking from the alarm lock/unlock signal.

If you get it wrong you can deadlock the car by locking the door from the inside and then you can't get out if you haven't got the key to wind a window down or open the sunroof. I think the boot release is disabled when the car is deadlocked.

I d locked my RST, would I do it again NO. It was great until you have issues with your alarm, central locking or car battery and you look a complete idiot climbing through the boot, providing you haven't d locked that either. Also what do you do if your car battery runs flat, not like you can unlock the car with the key.

As said above the choice is yours.

I'd rather theives put a screw driver in the door lock than try to bend the door or smash windows.
