My Tickford, its done 46,000 miles and only 1,000 in the last 9 years ive owned it.
My 280 pride and joy, 45,000 miles. It took me ages to find a real clean and tidy one that i was happy with. Again ive owned this for nearly 10 years and its done just under the 10,000 miles in that time.
This is my other 280, it was a bargain as the owner needed a quick sale as he needed to raise funds to go on a tv poker show, which he won! It needed abit of work as it had done 80,000. Ive had this one now 5 years and ive just finished restoring it and it will be up forsale later this year. Its just done 7 miles in 5 years...... just a trip down to the mot station this month!!!..... not bad eh.....

Capri V8
If you can weld and have access to metal, not that expensive
the hardest part now is the manifolds as Caprisport no longer do the v8 conversion,
you can get away with using P5 rover manifolds, and caprisports drawings to make the other mounts etc needed,

Hi guys!
I`m from Hungary, recently staying in London. I had originally a 2.3 V6 Capri from Germany later I had changed the engine for a 2.8 carb model from a granada. I put a K-jet on it and the same electrical ignition like the 2.8i has.
At the moment I`d like to tune it up more and need some advice.
The engine is almost rebuilt, ported heads, new bearings, rings, seals. Only the camshaft is not on top i think.
It has already 4 paddle racing clutch, 2" exhaust and lsd. Run 10.6sec on 1/8mi.
I`d like a wilder cam, lightened flywheel, 5speed gearbox, stronger clutch cover, nitrous and better ignition system if it`s necessary or anything else
could make this project better. I don`t want turbo.
What type of cam, gearbox, clutch cover and ignition upgrade do u suggest?

capri lover
Hello,
I have a mk1 capri, and feel very much in the minority!! its a 1971 1600xl, that i have subtly modified, with a 16v rover engine. I have a photo or two, and when i work out how to post them i will!! It looks like s**t and goes like stink, however traction and braking are major problems!! I love mk1 capris, I bought a mk3 to reshell my engine and running gear into a while ago, but it just wasnt the same, despite being a much more solid and better car(was bought by Jon Betts who wrote for classic ford and street machine at the time). Still got thios prefacelift mk1 thats tax exempt and very solid from ebay, and we are rocking now!!

Ok i got the idea of this photo thing, so here we go!! hope it works. Just for reference, best 1/4 mile 13.6@110mph, still spinning in 4th gear!! I love mk1 Capris, although i like all capris. Anyone fancy a race, im a regular at York raceway, and its a good leveller!! Only running 75BHP of gas, if you spotted the solenoids. The lads at Doncaster speak very highly of the red mk3 V8 above, sorry im a tad faster mate, with only 3.5 litres, i think it was a timing error!! mINE IS STRIPPED TO THE BARE B******S, i dont even have carpets!! Traction and stopping may always be a problem though, however with 110 terminal speeds I should with a little morte traction be running low twelves next year.

Wow there are some beauties here.
Here's a few pictures of mine, I just bought it yesterday and will collect it in a few weeks.
Here's the spec sheet:
1979 FORD CAPRI 2.8i Special 3dr Fastback,
22,500 miles, FORD CAPRI V8 CUSTOM. Originally a 3.0S but has had an extensive amount of work done to bodywork and an engine conversion but interior is original. 3.5 rover v8 p6 engine and gearbox. 10.5 - 1 comp, k and ns with bbw needles, 4 pot calipers resealed, new 2.8 master cylinder and new rear wheel cylinders and all flexi hoses. new cam, followers, big ends and mains in 1996 and history shows 5000 miles since then. engine runs sweet and sounds meaty as it should. electric fuel pump in boot and twin electric fans for cooling. excellent interior. full custom bodykit de bumpered and mirrored. paintwork is believed to be nissan sunburnt orange and it is a pretty good paint j

i own a 2ltr x-pack and richard grant kitted mk3. new engine being built for it using the cosworth 205 block and the injection setup from the sierras. thats the runaround. the new project is a mk1 that i recently picked up, shes a german import, lhd for the time being, with a 2600 v6 up front. shes scheduled for a stripdown and a 24v cossie transplant. ALOT of bodywork to be done first.
has anyone else on here running 24v's explored the custom inlet route as the standard issue is very restrictive. what sort of power are people getting from them?
cheers.

Hiya, thought id put a couple of better pics of me old mk1 on for your perusal!!
I love slotmags!!
Shot of obligatory nos bottle! Bootlid is fibreglass, thats why it isnt painted inside.
Shot of interior, doesnt do it any justice! probably never will finish painting the floor! Its all solid though. Ali door panels are a bit rough, and prob weigh more than the originals!!
She is gonna get a revamp this year, with some wider wheels and better tyres (remoulds really are crap!!) Pics will follow when i start, time and money permitting. Then i might get around to fitting the LSD, and hopefully my ETs should drop to low 12s high 11s, perhaps a sniff more gas, and hopefully a nitrous controller.

Hello, new boy here, thought i ought to introduce my 2.0 Laser. It's a work in progress, needing a bit of restoring to get it looking nice again.
The bodywork round the front end is rough as a badger's backside - it needs new wings, some welding on the valance, and a new bumper - but the floorpan is solid and the mechanicals are decent too. Only mods so far are to the front brakes (drilled and grooved brake discs, Kevlar pads, braided hoses and reconned calipers) as they were pretty lethal as standard!
Eventually, once I've got rid of all the rusty bits, I'm planning on having it resprayed in Radiant Red, and doing a bit of mild tweaking to the Pinto motor.
