Default Advice needed

Ok people

I have recently aquired a 1.8 zetec engine and b4 you say y use the the 1.8 it was £50 and ive been told its easier to do than the 2.0.....

Now my cars of the road as the box is fooked, so i figured it can stay off the road for now whilst I do the engine build.....

Im looking for around 220-230bhp

Looked in to it a little and have discovered that the crank, rods and head will all be fine for this power figure? without being changed...

I would like a nice drivable motor with a good mix of turbo/engine power....Not reliaing of hugh boost

What sort of pistons and cr do I need to run? I know you can get these from usa.....any ideas where from?
Ideas on turbo choice?
Management ?
Clutch?
Will a stage 1 box be enough to handle say 230ft/lb torque

Any help, ideas, advice or links would be very much appreciated

Eyes peeled for the project !!

Cheers

Speak to Jano about a zetec turbo

And a stage one box is also fine for this kinda power Anything more and you'll require a bernie stage 2 /stage 2 +

IMO i would use the best pistons and rods i can afford.
909 motorsport pistons and rods!

Also i would go 16v as it costs less than a ZVH.

If compared with other setups this is the ultimate! At a fraction of the cost!

it sounds like the same spec ZVH im building at the mo, im doing a 1.8 one as it is alot easyer, but still costs a bit tho.

turbo wise, im running a stage 2 hydrid, i will also be running a saff cossie intercooler. as for pistons, i am using the standard zetec pistons, but they have been machined down by 30thou to reduce comp hieght, but doing this does weaken the piston to a certain extent, but it is a cheaper option if your not going for a BIG bhp motor, if you do skim the piston you MUST have the zetec oil spray jets fitted to cool the pistons down or they will crack

management side, i sticking with MFi as with a few tweeks can fuel a 230bhp motor fine.

clutch, you will need a uprated one IMO

gearbox, well im running a standard box at the mo, but once it goes bang, i will upgrade to a stage 1
