For those who love Welds.....
Well boys.. I know some of you on here love a good weld...

This is a Milton Race Prep strut brace for an Anglia and retails at £65.00 with no vat....
Just makes you wonder why you ever bothered with all this modern stuff
And this bloke is welding up the cage in my new Anglia Track Car....
Ooooh the sex wee will be flowing when he's finished

as said slightly under-cut, but also by having weld curves that far apart from eachother shows lack of side wall penertration as well as corner.. best be a nice dam route in there or its IMHO rubbish, and 'weiving' is only a recognised welding as a cap for verticle welds

Its not wrong mate.... getting excited by two dogs shaggin in the street is wrong.... but this is proper engineering.... Man Stuff !! So its ok
The top mounts are the Milton Race Prep full adjustable eccentric ones, they are made for the Anglia, they may fit other vehicles, I'll check with Kevin and let you know

I remember seeing something on the telly recently that an inch of weld will hold a tonne in weight.... and they demonstrated it with a crane and a fookin big weight.
Part of my point was, if you look in the Burtons catalogue or Rally Design or Demon Theives there aint many places you can buy a strut brace as elegant as this with such neat welding for £65
I guess the closest will be the new Retro Ford Escort Strut braces that Burtons are selling.

looks just like your average mig weld to me , now if it was tig then it would be especially nice , and probably alot stronger due to less heat more penetration

oooooooooww eeeeeeeeeeerrrrrrrrHmmmmmm Hardly...
There are very few people who can mig weld as nice as this and as consistantly as this, you just have to look at the cars featured in the likes of Classic Ford & Retro Cars... I mean... did anyone see the Chevette HS thing in Retro Cars last month, on Page 28... he hadnt even dressed the welds twas a shocka !
If you want Tig welded stuff then have a look at the new Escort Strut braces that Burtons are selling, they are made by Retro Ford and they are all tigged.

I've got 3 on the go at the minute.
I've got a proper 60's sleeper, an Anglia van with a Shorrock supercharger on it
I've just bought a 43,000 proper old school minter with all Milton Race Prep suspension etc
And the track project which will be running a 200BHP Zetec with Quaife box and slipper, aswell as all the Milton Race Prep stuff.
Check out the Gallery on my forum http://105Speed.hyperboards.com there are some interesting projects in there....
One guy is sticking an S2000 motor in an Anglia
Another guy has a turbo'd up Nissan Motor....
Its all happening in the world of Old School lads....
does look nice welding but at the end of the day all that matters is it does the job
id rather have a weld thats strong than a pretty looking weld thats weeker than my snotters
thats not aimed at the strut brace in case u think it is
