Told you this already

Use the Mountune/WRC/GrpA/whatever you wanna call it ALS valve, and need a remote housing to bolt it to, just NOT the piddly lil thing they fit ISCVs to on some RS Turbos etc.

Gareth EscCos made a decent one IIRC

Bearing in mind you on throttle bodies you will need a custom one with more outlets, unless you just want to split the 1 big pipe into 4?

He's on bodies?

Didnt know that.

Interesting stuff.

As for the valve, the vauxhall astra gte 16v ISCV are quite popular as ALS valves, and are readily available secondhand.

steve, i cant remeber you saying that

chip, cool, ill look into it.

as for bodies, well if you got a feb issue of FF turn to page 23, i have a lovely set of titan motorsport roller barrel throttle bodies and the inlet pictured.

as for the ISCV i guess i will have to mod it into 4 outlets for each port, but is shouldnt be too much of a problem

any pics of the one gareth has done?

Proper ALS valve like this with the whole valve moving up n down that middle spindle...

Rather than a gay modded version of the standard one, which is this...

Where the air goes thru the hole in the bottom and out that tiny hole you can see (closed in the pic) on the right.

Unless you just want loads of pops n bangs with no real efffect.

I thought that, but MartinH said to me the other day it makes a massive difference to drivability in his experience.

Suprised me a lot, obv there a theoretical throttle responce advantage, but didnt think itd do much youd feel on a turbo motor.

Im not convinced there would be much difference on a basic spec motor, but if martin says different then fair enough, be a silly man who didnt take notice of something martin says

Ive still got the choice on mine, the inlet is currently being made as we speak, but ive also got a set of TBs knocking around with a plenum that i could use instead, although they are normal butterfly ones not sexy barrel ones!

what you've ended up with there gareth is not much different to the vauxhall one that chip mentioned. although it's smart, it hardly seems worthwhile

While we're on the subject, what is Mountune's EGR system?

I know it remove's lag, but is it an ALS as we know it, or is it another method of producing instant boost?

So is it like a mini gas turbine using pressurised air to spin the turbo?

Is it better than traditional ALS - in your opinion of course?

Seem's good to me, but I haven't heard of anyone using it.

works very well,, you need an ecu that can control it (pectel t6 and the likes)

it turns the turbo into a gas turbine

you need a als egr kit from mountune (this can be make,, but i havent made one yet so i wont list how too do it,, till ive tried myself0

WRC EGR system Ref: C877
EGR system (for WRC engines) provides instant throttle response by completely removing turbo lag. Positive boost levels are maintained even when the throttle is closed. Turbo temperatures are also reduced thereby increasing turbo life.

Price: Ł2,772.44 (Excluding: VAT at 17.5%, delivery and shipping)
you still need an als valve, and throttle body

ALS idle valve Ref: C615
Modified idle control valve to run Anti Lag.

Price: Ł382.33 (Excluding: VAT at 17.5%, delivery and shipping)
you need the egr too be fitted,, which is simple

you also need a pectel t6 2000 ecu,,, Ł2100 plus vat, wiring loom to suit Ł600

umm think thats about it,,, sounds a deal really doesnt it

Cheap as chip's.

Silly question, there'd be no need for air injector's with this would there? And what about the remote iscv too?

Sorry if that's a rediculous question G, but I'm trying hard to learn as much as possible.

you would still use air to air boost control,, as egr als only works off throttle, and boost control is on throttle

with this would there? And what about the remote iscv too?
you dont have too use a remote iscv ever on a cossie

So, what is the purpose of having a remote iscv then, is it just a mod to make the car run smoother on idle or something?

Cheer's Gareth, much appreciated mate, really is.

when you cant use a throttle body with a built in ISCV, like throttle bodys or maybe a homemade rs500 type inlet,, when the iscv would block the second fuel rail

or even on a pectel t6 car when you could have both an ISCV and an ALS valve
