I have been thinking long and hard about the best way of going about selling my car ie break it,sell as is,back to stage 3 etc...and i can't decide which would be best
I have already started to remove stuff like the Nos,als,WI,Deffi's,carbon seats etc...and have replaced the original seats! I have also had a few PM's asking about buying it as stage3/4.
I am now thinking that what i may just do is remove the engine and box,intercooler,rad etc... and sell it like that ie anyone who has ropey saff with good mechanicals could very easily put it back on the road!
If i were to do the latter i would need about 5k for it and all it would need to put it back on the road is for someone to buy a cheap rusty/pranged saff for circa 2k and they would have all the bits required to finish it!!
What do you guys think?

Of course i want to do what makes the most money back but for someone to buy it complete minus the engine and box and a few other select items inc the plate

spadge i think its sensible if you sell it as a stage3 or similar , at least then you get some of the money back that youve spent and then someone else gets to enjoy the car as well rather than it go to cossie heaven as i heard its getting rather busy up there

I know where there are 2 Saffs right now for 2k both with mot and tax and both good runners
As for mine it has done a genuine 87k with history and has never been pranged thus has all its original panels and paint! Don't forget also it is a 4x4 and would come with everything minus engine,box,wheels and a few shiny bits

I would say sell it as a st.3.
What's wrong with leaving the engine in the car,too good of an engine to leave in.
Unless Spadge you need the engine for your next project.

Ohhhhh Spadge you do my head in...... Why the hell do you wan't to sell it. Never seen it in real life but it looks a minter, and with the 4 x 4 conversion has got to be one of the ultimate 3drs (Assuming your not a stick in the mud originalist), but what you gonna get to replace it. ????

Maybe i just went a bit far with it and like my creature comforts after all i am knocking on 40
The RL7's are going tonight approx 3 weeks after i bought them as they are the wrong colour for my new project
Sometimes even i don't know what i'm doing lol

The engine is as was at EA nothing has been removed that was helping it make power there! Ihope you have plenty of cash though Jim especialy if you want the g/box

It isn't mint but is honest and has never had a shunt or any panels!
Your Saph could fit nicely into my plans should a deal be worth my while but please remember there is a gulf between 3 door and saph prices/desireablity

But then you forgot the quaife diff, Ap 4 Pots, T4 Suspension, and of course the full service history and 41,000 miles from new

you have done alot to this car it would be a shame to bail out now from finishing it ... you have got some decent bits on it all you have to stay with it and dont get fed up .... the amount of times that my car had probs i could have torched it ...but i stayed with it and the only coulpe of things thats lets my car down is power and a decent gearbox apart form that is nearly sorted ...but i stay with it although cars can get me down sometimes
stay with it a make it a proper weapon why start all over again and waste even more money ;( likwe i said you have the basis of a very good car

As for the mileage etc...it means nothing to me chap as to look at saphs just don't float my boat (no pun intended lol)
