last sunday i found a mk 2 granny ghia on ebay , emailed the owner loadsa questions and had a good chat with him , and put a £300 bid on it .
on tuesday my m8 offered me his range rover for towing my boat but i couldnt afford both so had to wait and see what happened with the granny.
on wednesday i was outbid on the granny so i bought my m8's rangy .
on thursday i find out the granny owner cancelled everyones bids which made me the winner , i contacted ebay and they said that as i bid on the car and was the highest bidder i had to buy it
this morning i get told my boats ready to be picked up £300 to pay
the cars gotta go by the weekend b4 i start getting charged for storage on the boat which is £240 per week
please help me outa the shit with this one guys . as i wont be getting any money in my bank for another 2 weeks

no , because the auction had ended with my bid ending up as the highest , i was legally bound
if i had known b4 hand i would have withdrawn it .
@ the end of the day the owner was doing me a massive favour and normally i would be over the moon , its just bad timing

 

I know this doesn't help if you've already bought it and I don't condone it at all...

but you're not legally bound to anything. The worst that can happen is you'll get a negative feedback point. You can buy a £1's worth of stuff off me and get the point back if you like.

ALSO, if he stopped the auction early it's no longer anything to do with ebay and he won't even be able to leave you feedback because you shouldn't appear as the winning bidder.

I sell a lot of gear on ebay including some of the part ex's. I used to get wound up about people not coming through with the money or trying to get you to end the auction early, but it's not the end of the world. As long as there's breast to look at life can't get too bad

its kinda funny how ebay made it out to be a serious issue and told me it could even end up in a small claims court .
trouble is i fookin hate messers and will do anything not to become one ,
i bid , i won it , i shot myself in the foot , im just hoping someone can help me out
