surely your car should do more miles to a tenner than my cossie!
my cossie was doing 10 miles to 10 quid over winter last year,,,,,,, also kept wearing out the brake pads on the rear too
stu sugested the rear calipers where seized but i chose to know better and changed the engine temp sensor in the head,,,,,,,,,, after changing the rear pads for the 3d time cause the last ones lasted 6 weeks i then decided to looking into the calipers,,,,, guess what,,,, there siezed
moral of the storey,,,,, listen to the experts

Should you even be working on brakes if you didnt spot this in the 1st place?

Should you even be working on brakes if you didnt spot this in the 1st place? when you change the pads you wind the calipers back and then it works fine again,,,,,,,,, untill you apply the hand brake and then it gets sticky again, dont totally seize on the brakes either
guess thats why you dont work on your own car if you dont understand that not all problems with cars or either broken or working but theres parts that are not deffo fucked but could be
never had a crash in the car NOR did stu have a issue with the brakes when he set the car up,,,,,, guess its not always a easy thing to spot if the caliper winds back fine and the hand brake ect work after its fitted
infact non of my messing about with cars has caused problems except when MAKING things work and then its trial and error but still gets working
i am of course hapy you made the time for that commet to make ME look the fool

Where did i say i dont work on my own car? I do a fair bit on my own cars espically the brakes
Was only asking why you fitted brake pads and didnt spot a seized caliper, not trying to make you look a fool, all you needed to say was it wasnt seized at the time or it was intermittant sticking
did i also have to state if i got the caliper winding tool from halfords or not too
andy on a serious note i may play the fool but i dont bodge a car that would have my family in it at speed,,,,,, especially brakes

I can stick 20 quid in the Cossie for a blast on a saturday afternoon out in the sticks and get about 45 miles
I went to see Sheady yesterday in my Focus (Diesel) 180 mile round trip only used a quarter of a tank (Approx £11.00)
Ade.
