I run a '98 323i daily, does around 20mpg round town. Mpg's fairly shite, but even with foot down, shouldn't do that. Problem somewhere.

Unless he was blatting it down a motorway at 100 and something, thats where a tenner could have gone in 22 miles

You changed the pads and didnt spot the calipers were seized in the 1st place? Should you even be working on brakes if you didnt spot this in the 1st place?

andy cossie rear brakes dont just seize end of storey, they become sticky

when you change the pads you wind the calipers back and then it works fine again,,,,,,,,, untill you apply the hand brake and then it gets sticky again, dont totally seize on the brakes either

guess thats why you dont work on your own car if you dont understand that not all problems with cars or either broken or working but theres parts that are not deffo fucked but could be

never had a crash in the car NOR did stu have a issue with the brakes when he set the car up,,,,,, guess its not always a easy thing to spot if the caliper winds back fine and the hand brake ect work after its fitted

infact non of my messing about with cars has caused problems except when MAKING things work and then its trial and error but still gets working

i am of course hapy you made the time for that commet to make ME look the fool

Fair enough if they stick they stick.

Where did i say i dont work on my own car? I do a fair bit on my own cars espically the brakes

Was only asking why you fitted brake pads and didnt spot a seized caliper, not trying to make you look a fool, all you needed to say was it wasnt seized at the time or it was intermittant sticking
