Steve's dad Fred crashed into the back of my Pug a few years ago

I was stationary at the time

i kept seeing rally prepped cars go past work in the week and assumed there was one on this weekend! sweet as!

gotta do a few bits on the car today but might pop down tomorow, what tmes it on?

 

dont know fred mate,steves knockin on a bit so I guess fred dosent do it anymore?but so cool for the older generation

 

He was 74 and still rallying when he hit me

I had just spent 6 months rebuilding the Pug after a big roll and we were sat on the start line of stage 1 for its next first event and he rammed into the back of me

I was going to get out and give him a piece of my mind - but you can't to a 74 year old who was still rallying could you

 

Big respect for him still rallying at 74 ,shame about the pug though .rallying is deffo in there blood steves daughter rallys his old mk1 escort now,its just had the bda rebuilt and there not cheap

 

just got back one of the 6r4s didnt show and duncan broke one of his driveshafts,the audi did sound great but he done his fron diff in
Steve Furzeland was leading when we left today some lovley sounding mk1 and mk2s bda,pinto on 45s and 2.0xe`s top day cant wait for the wyedean now feb 11th its great

No1 Dunc Holder has hit 3 caravans apparently 1 off into the ditch again, and the Chevette HSR is apparently looking worse for wear

the chevette was very nasty he front ended it pretty bad was a lovley motor 230bhp vauxhall xe sounded great

there was nothing wrong with it,it was the disc's,cracked in four places,i have new ones now,some fooking dickheads on british rally at the moment,going to wind them up big style.

 

AP disc's are shite for cracking ain't they The scooby does the same to them

my best mates dad competed in this rally!came 19th overall and was the top placed fwd car.dave edmunds.driving a honda civic!only a 1.6 and was seeded 18th for the event and stuck with the big boys!

 

Think I met him at Abingdon Rally last year

I was 2nd behind him on that rally - its a quick car that, and he had the legs over mine with his big brakes

It was my first time at the venue, and with a new co-driver.

I'll have him this year

also he is still running with standard discs and calipers! just uprated pads
