had 2 exchange units from them... took bloody ages (in their defense they were awaiting specialist parts from the US)

price was quite high but then they were the only place in the country that could do mine

dunno how good they were as the mechanic who fitted em starved them of oil then set the self destruct timer on the car to go up in flames that night

oh and that reminds me, when the turbos came back one of them was aparently full of shit from where they'd blasted it but i never personally saw it just got told by said mechanic.

also TT aparent said that if it fucks up after having all the shit cleaned out of it they'd replace the unit FOC with no arguments

prices for a t3 are:

overhaul - £195 + VAT
recon exchange - £347 + VAT

expensive but good service.

just had them ring today, said mine is fubared and isnt worth refurbing (done 50k on standard boost )

im not implying anything by this statement but...

i know about 5 people whove had turbos sent to them for recon and theyve always turned round n said the turbo is completely fubared n needs a replacement unit

its more than likely that this is becasue they WERE all fubared tho to be honest but figured it worth mentioning anyway

very unlikely you will TT to repair any turbo unless you know them very well!!

they will always sell you a recon as its more economical for them

You must be able to pick them up cheaper than that? £800 for a standard T34 turbo and £1000 for a stage 1. The turbos at PJ are £615 for std and £770 for stg 1. So all i am saying is surley it must be cheaper to have new blades fitted?

That is true.

Due to the shortage of decent exchange units with at least some useable parts!

Too many people leave it until the turbo has destroyed itself before rebuilding. I would get it rebuilt periodically to save terminal damage. Its the Cores and Housings that cost the money.
