Due to ebay timewaster my genuine 1974 mk1 escort mexico is once again regretably for sale due to forthcoming house move and loss of garage.It is a 1974 model in virtually standard condition and is a very good solid shell which is almost rot free.It is in good condition everywhere but not mint.The Underneath has been prepared and a fresh coat of underseal applied which should protect it for years,but the exterior paint has gone a little dull in places with evidence of crazing on the bonnet and boot but is rust free and still looks respectable, with many admiring looks when out driving.This car was originally the very rare stardust silver when manufactured but was resprayed approx 12 years ago in the current daytona yellow,and in certain hard to paint areas there is evidence of the original colour.Mechanically wise,the engine starts and runs well with no unwanted noises or smoke,the gearbox is fine through all gears with the normal little play in the lever and the back axle has a slight whine but mechanically as expected for a 32 year old car and drives well.It has genuine mexico steel wheels which have been recently powdercoated and new tyres fitted.The interior is although not mint,in good order and has been treated to a set of mk2 mexico recaros and a new interior carpet and the only problem i can think of is that the rev counter is intermittent and the speedo a tad optimistic which is fairly common on these cars,but i have 2 spare six dial dashes to fix this but havent got round to it.The car has a mot until sept 06 and tax until end of feb 06 and is in regular weekend/dry weather use and is totally reliable.If you are looking for a good solid genuine mexico for a rolling restoration then this could be the car for you. i strongly recommend viewing as its a good straight car,so please email me to arrange a viewing.Im expecting a good response on this rare genuine mexico and the car is advertised elsewhere this coming week for £4000 so if interested email me.Any questions please email me...poss p/x taken..classic mini,sapphire cosworth 2wd,mk2 rs2000,lotus 7 replica,anything interesting maybe(swap or money my way only).link to photos..... http://photobucket.com/albums/0903/mark4765/MEXICO/

I am so pissed off ebay auction has just finished and 2 minutes later i get this message...... 'Hello this is marks wife iam eally sorry but he can't buy your car,he has only just told me about it, he allready has one of these cars and he is not haveing another one.I am sorry about this iam new to ebay what can be done can the next person have it? i am sorry i would ask my husband but he has stormed out. Not for sale now...i was pissed off earlier and went for a hours drive,thinking how i,d like the car....got home to garage,ripped brand new vinyl roof off,removed sunroof and then ripped out the new headlining sort out roof is next,then back to original stardust silver
