Default WHATS WRONG WITH MY RST

I did a service on my escort rst the weekend.

Changed oil, filte, fuel filter, dizzy cap, rotor arm, leads, plugs. Then now i cant get it to start. The leads are defo in the right order and the plugs are all good. WTF have i done wrong.

and i desperatly need it fixed

Ok first easy things you can check are:-

Have you put the fuel filter on the right way (is the flow arrow in the right direction?)

Double check that the arm + cap are both secure.



Failing the above my money would be on the fact that you've disturbed something, probably a wire or soemthing.

You may need to bleed the fuel system as you have changed the filter causing air in the system. Crack the cold start valve nut on the metering head and crank the car for a few seconds and then nip it back up.

Always bleed mine when changing the fuel filter, i have stood in the cold for hours scratching my head with this, the other way is to take the air filter off and press the plate down whilst cranking the car instant fuel at the injectors.
K jet relies on fuel pressure for the injectors to work unlike EFi where its pulsed electrically
Cheque book tuner?????

is defo getting fuel as the new spark plugs are plastered in fuel. Could it be as it a new fuel filter it is now over fueling as the old on was on the car for at least 2 years. as the car stood for that period.

always hold the meterhead flap down when starting after messing with the fuel system

always works for me

haha. you people are gonna piss yo pants.
i checked the battery as it wasnt dead but not perfect.
so i though i will charge it. and it starts. ha ha. i think i must of flooded it with so much fuel it wouldnt start so leaving it standing for a day must of cleared it
and now its alive and well ha ha.
i feel a propper c u next tuesday.

ohh well. 1st lesson of rs ownership learned lol

oooh, look slike we have a keyboard warior on our hands, sod bleeding it - it should start fine after a few primes of the fuel pump, most simplest way to do it
