After suggestions as what clutch to go for.
basically my clutch has given up yesterday on the way home from Santa Pod.
have been running with an Alcon 6 paddle, clutch was only in the car for about 6 weeks with a few pod runs, car was then off the road for over 14 months and has had about another 5 weeks use, 1 track day and an outing at the pod again and its buggered.
surely there must be something stronger than a 6 paddle clutch or am i liely to be replacing my clutch on an average of 3 months with the way the car is being used?
Kelv.

When you say buggered, are you sure it isn't the ratchet / cable, as launching puts a huge stress on these and if they then casue the clutch to drag constantly, it will wear the clutch out in a few thousand miles?
The only thing to do is hydraulic it (Ł575). It may sound expensive, but it pays for itself INSTANTLY, as I now get 15,000 miles out of an Alcon clutch, which going by the above, you would get through at least three clutches in that time
. I do 5-6 track days a year and go to the Ring twice. However, I don't do Santa Pod, as I know this is a clutch killer, but I did the GT Battle last year and in the damp conditions of that, was lighting up all four wheels on the launches.

well mate i have the same clutch as you with the alcon cover plate as well, done the pod and a track sesson last year plus it get driven very hard alot off the time and the only problem i have had so far is with the ratchet and cable as mike has said this is the weak point and if / when mine goes again it will be getting swopped over to hydraulic.
how many runs did you do, i did 3 last year

well its done 2 days at brands, one was a test session with steve scott and the other was a 4 hour track afternoon.
probably done in the region of about 15 starts at santa pod aswell.
guess ill start by changing the ratchet and cable as have brand new spares of those sat in the workshop, if no difference ill look at the hydraulic route with new clutch!
was seriously suprised that even a paddle could wear quite as quick as it has
