calibra turbo 4x4

VERY NICE!!! Not my cup of tea - to me they're Vauxhall's version of the Ford Probe, but 800% better! 4x4 as well - sweet!!

Vauxhall/Opel is GM - owned my share of GM products and still do (Chevy Lumina APV) so i'm not biased - i even owned a K-reg Nova Merit 1.2 But Corsas....ewww! But to each his own.

Again, can't believe you made the jump to a RST! Odd that is!

Only Vaux i owned was a 2litre cavalier as a 2nd car runaround, mint nick, never went wrong, but the WORST car ive ever driven, seriously, jus felt all wrong, nothing good about it, ive driven 100s of scrappers and they had at least somthing you liked, this cav was perfect nick, jus crap, hated that thing, soo pleased when the volvo stoved into the side of it, inc payout and got the mondeo rep-mobile.

That aint bad for a corsa, main prob with them things is the too tall n thin looking

xr4 i h8 the probe lol.
i no calibras have a bad name for the 4x4 system but its how u look after it. mine did 168k and was in perfect working order.
for the time i think vauxhall did well i mean u get the following
2.0 16v turbo
4x4
Heated leather
abs
trip comp
p/s
all electric windows sunroof
it had 204 bhp a kkk turbo which is like a t2 lol and had a cat coverter
plus 0-60 is about 6.4 i think

compared to a saph cossie you had 210-220 bhp a t3 turbo cossie managment not Ford plus no cat converter

i got an rs as it was just there when i needed a different car i sold calibra and didnt have a car for 6 months

to be honest, i wasn't expecting great responses lol. But it shows that some people are a little narrow minded.

Ohh, its a vauxhall is no better than my dads harder than your dad ha ha. Jesus, i thought this place would be a little more mature than corsasport and people had a wider imagination. Personnally, a modified car is a modified car to me, no matter if its a Ford, a Vauxhall, a Honda or anything. Whats a name??????????

How u doing Mike, long time no speak. Yeah, 1.4 16v engine went last year. 2.0 went in, much more fun now, and seems to suprise many a RSTurbo owner :P Makes the car so much more driveable. Still need to sort out a set of coilovers though. Would like to invest in a lightened flywheel and LSD as the first real engine performance modifications.

AS for the wheelspin comment lol, im 22 mate, not 17, ive had the car for 4 years. I think the word maturity may come to mind. Only time the wheels spin up in my car is in the wet. But thats only due to the compond of my front tyres being extremly hard.

So to all those that can't see past a name and to those that can appreciate 4 years of work, many changes, and a lot of money spent :P And can get over the whole car manufacture thing.

Nothing to do with the name. A Corsa is crap. Doesn't matter if it had a Ford emblem on it, or a Nissan - it's still crap. It's just that Vauxhall has a reputation of making crap cars - Remember the old Astra That's just a rebadged Daewoo Nubria!!

I have an open mind - love all makes given they make a decent car, but goes to show that 80% of what leaves the Vauxhall factory is crap. The Corsa is the top of the crap ladder. I appreciate your hard work and ingenuity. Unfortunately you pick the wrong car to do it to IMO.

Dont get me wrong - Corsas, Tiagras, Cavaliers, etc. are good everyday vehicles. Vectras & Omegas are pretty good, yet a bit boring Rather have seen your efforts done to say, a Vectra.

Sorry for being harsh!

A Vecta at 18???? Its still my first car and an on going process. Im not quite sure how you can classify a car as "shit"? However, if you have driven a 2.0 16v Corsa then i will retract that statement. Theres not many cars you can buy that are great at 18, and although i do agree, i'd much rather have something like a Supra (I could do with the amount i've spent on it), but I can't afford the lump sum in one go.

A 2.0 16v Corsa will eat a ST170 Focus round a track. A LET corsa would thrash most cars on the road.

From the factory I agree, most vauxhalls are not that great, especially the corsa. It doesn't go round corners. But LSD and coilovers work a treat and can put the little car right up behined some of the more advanced motors. Just remember a 2.0 16v Nova can take on a Scooby (ok, maybe just in a straight line lol) so the performance is there.

I wonder what your attitude would be if it were a Fiesta RST or a Escort RST i owned and posted??? A valver corsa is within this kind of league. And a LET corsa is above this.

PS, Vectras are sh1te anyway, not enough power and a big car. Good for motorways, thats about it.

Daimo,
seems to suprise many a RSTurbo owner
Well either it does or it doesnt, cant you tell!!?? Was waiting for this type of immature comment, thought you were a mature 22 yr old! Oh, thats right you wasted all that money on a bag of fuckin bones!

I wonder what your attitude would be if it were a Fiesta RST or a Escort RST i owned and posted
Hmm I wonder, on a Ford BB and if its a half decent car I would have thought that people will like it dont you!!??

i thought this place would be a little more mature than corsasport
All i can say mate is think you should have stayed there, you're obviously one of these people that hang around at the back of youth clubs thinking your car is the DON as its got some shit fibreglass bodywork and a fuck off stereo, then come home and post on all the BB you can find!!

Whats the point in coming to a Ford board with a Vauxhall, your gonna know the response!!!

Oh, and one more thing, I dont like it - sorry But then I dont like little cars like fiesta's either!!

Can not fault the time and passion gone into it.

But uf you like Vauxhalls so much why mod it to look like a Ren Clio

And if an Rs woner had done a similar sort of thing to an RST I woiuld tell em and have done

Dan, why come on a Ford board?

Well, for starters, if you've checked my site, u'd see i was collecting information + pictures. Also, i joined the RSOC site aroudn 3.5 years ago and apart from the general light hearted jokes and digs, everythig was fine, and thats when i was 18/19 odd, with a 1.4 16v, alloys and not that much else. The replies were not as petty as some written already. Also, i may add that ALL the kit on my car is factory or facotry approved, hence its all top quality plastic and the skirts and bumper alone before adjustments come to around Ł900. None of this tacky fibreglass cheapness thankyou :P Also, i sold the 145db system, and just have a couple of sets of high class components :P HArdly a boom system. And as for th youth clubs comment, excuse me, with remarks like that, you may want to take a long hard look in a mirror. I am an IT professional who works for a massive Law firm in London. Where may i ask do you work? The seems to suprise many an RS owner was not a dig (Although you must have read it this way). This was simply a way of expressing that the cars performance is certainly not like the standard boyracer basball capped neon equiped 1.2 16v corsa owner.

Neal, not at Trax it didn't :P ST170 this year on track it was left standing :P Didn't get out of shape once.

Thats better

Anyway, for the others, yeah, the 2.0 16v engine in a small car like this means some great fun. Its quite heavy at the moment, but will be on a diet soon. Its around 160bhp per tonne at the moment, and it stops well, but the handling is still an issue, buts its an on-going project. Just like some of you Ford owners keep your cars and finish them so they are perfect. Im very much a fan of the European modifying and went to Belgium last year for the Vauxhall Treffin show. IM hoping to go back this year and possible MAgny Cours for the shows down there. The Euros style is so much smoother, cleaner and neater than the kind of "boyracer" modifying over here.

i used to own a corsa when i couldn't afford a better car and i think they are ok may not of been as quick as an rs but i loved it.
i don't think it matters if you dont like the car he has changed it to how he wants it he has spent alot of time and effort on it and everybody slates him for it.
If that was someone with an rs that had spent that much time and money on it everybody would kiss his arse. Nice car daimo despite what others might say not sure if you remember me i used to have the blue corsa with the two 15's in the boot and momo sports
