The standard clutch is good up to 220bhp. I very much doubt a 1.8 diesel one is lol.

and all i hear is bad from any clutch under about Ł250, more than ill spend

TDI's excert plenty of torque

Mines running 14 psi. Don't know what bhp or torque figures tho Seriously need it roaded for a figure before I fit my new 'cooler to compare it before and after. Don't know if it's worth it with the clutch slipping tho

But there was never a Turbo Diesel CVH

Myself and AndyRST both used a genuine Ford clutch for over 10,000 miles, both had around 220- 230bhp and 230+ lbs/ft torque and 18 psi.

off the original topic slightly, but what are you doing to the flywheel when replacing the clutch as you say its not handling the power?

you do know you should really get the flywheel 'faced' everytime you change the clutch to stop it getting hot spots , hence the slipping?

as for diesel clutch...dont know but maybe the same myth as the diesel box??

I had a very good S2 item re-faced and fitted. S2 item has larger surface area over the S1: as you know
