Default Bedding new discs in - whats the script??

Right, the XR discs are fucked after about 500miles (methinks I spanked them a little too hard) so I am goin to buy some new ones 2moz.

How do I bed them in, do I have to drive miss daisy for a month???

And before you all say "Ford brakes are shite, go buy some monster APs" I dont wanna spend loads on the peice of shit, I just need it to run me round while I look for another car.

Couple of hundred miles of not too hard braking should do it.

Driving like Miss Daisy will possibly glaze the pads....

http://www.zeckhausen.com/bedding_in_brakes.htm gives some good details, basically a few near stops, getting heat into the pads and disc, then allowing to cool down properly. Just be very careful, as bedding brakes in can be an anti-social behaviour

No - infact it's better to run a disc in on an old pad.

Check the pads in a few weeks again as these can wear away loads when putting new discs on.

well i heard warm them up with gentle stopping for 10 mins then find a long deserted straight stretch of road and go (in mph) with normal hardish braking 10-0, 20-0, 30-0, 40-0 etc etc.

worked for my brembo/ferrodo combo

Ballin I do the same process. I also take a sanding disk to the surface of the rotors to clean away any extra plating and ruff up the surface just a little to help seat the pads.
