st170 conversion up front is an idea on a buget, stops well with 300mm discs...

but obviously a big 4pot wilwood or AP kit would be better.

whatever you can stretch to really, worth the expense IMO though.

If you are going to run 280 bhp I'd definitely get a set of decent brakes.
Go for some 4 pots with 330mm discs.

don't have them personally, but loads of sets about, few on here.

but IMO probably best to wait a while a get a beefier kit as people have said.

It depends really on how much you want to spend, and what route you go. Building a 280bhp engine isn't easy, so I would imagine you would need a long break after that.

You could go for a week, or 2 weeks. I wouldn't really bother with a weekend break because it will be over too soon. Yeah, yeah definately go for a longer break and relax.

That's my advice

Sorry Jim

If you don't want to spend alot I would go for a 2wd Cosworth Disc conversion with S2 calipers. As long as your calipers are in good condition this set up is very good, especially with your rear discs.

I had this set up on my car and a mate who used to own a 360bhp 4x4 Saph said my brakes were as good as his AP 330's.

It is a good, cheap, yet effective set- up. Like I said, providing your calipers are good you are looking at £50 for brackets and £100 for decent discs, I'd recommend Pagid 8 groove.

Brackets can be bought from Mike Rainbird. I don't get commission
