Default should my clutch be slipping?

at the moment i have a stage 1 tune 175bhp 191lb/ft @15psi

my car drives fine no clutch slip at all but when it comes on boost mainly in 3rd, 4th and 5th the clutch slips for about half a second then catches up.

i thought it could have been oil leaking from the rocker cover gasket (which needed replacing) so i did that and its still slipping.

its a standard clutch which is about 8k old. i thought they should have been good for 200bhp.

is there anything else i should be checking before i go and purchase a nice shiny AP item?

dont really wanna put my car on the rollers at Powers with a slipping clutch

thanks

at around that power a standard clutch will be at its limits you need to go to one of the ap paddle clutches i think

Mind you that there have been several standard clutches from Ford over time. My feeling is that the present one by LUK will never cope with 200hv.

I always thought it was the paddle clutches that don't last as long?

eventually im hoping to be around the 200bhp mark with similar torque i guess. i just thought a paddle clutch would be a bit excessive for that sort of power.

Ah maybe it's the padle that doesnt last long, and the organic which isnt as good as a padle clutch, I think that sounds about right.

just buy a paddle and be done with it. there only a extra £30 or somethink and will def take the power then.

don't think that i haven't thunk about that.

the paddle clutch is only £20 extra but if its only gonna last about 6 months to a year then its a waste of money as i am only gonna be running 200bhp at the maximum which the organic clutch should be more than up to.
