ABS Modules is there different ones??

Default ABS Modules is there different ones??

I have just bought a e reg saff cos shell and i am putting the parts off my old g reg on it and the abs module dont seem to fit the multiplug on the g reg is green and the multiplug on the e reg is yellow??

why are they different and can i just swap the multiplug covers to fit?

Hi Andy,
there are 3 different types af ABS ECUs and unfortunately they are not interchangeable.
The 2 earlier ECUs have 35 pins and are similar the later 1 has 55 pins.
My guess is that you will need a 35 pin with green plug and socket.

thanks for the help mike the number of pins on the connector is the same but its just my abs module has dowel pegs pitted in the connector area and the old conector cover has cut outs for this??

Hi again Andy,
you will need to use the earlier ABS unit from an E reg car if you intend to use the existing wiring loom. I think this will be easier than trying to change the wiring over.

Don't know your particular convesion but i fitted a 4x4 abs ecu (h reg) into a 3dr (d reg) during 4x4 conversion and all i had to do was remove the roll pin and all worked fine. The 4x4 has 4x4 only on the label same no of pins though.
