Default Removing Sapphire 2wd air cond?

My sapph has air conditioned, and I want to remove it, but after comparing with a non air/cond version I can see that belts are different. (my power steering belt and pulley is diferent as it comes from air/cond compressor).

anyone knows what parts and mods do I need to remove it?

i want to fit A/C to mine, so maybe we can do a swap of parts?

My 2WD engine has been fitted into a shell that was originally a 2.9 v6 ghia with a/c, so i already have the evaporator in the bulkhead, and the wiring loom. the rest is not a problem, i work for a company supplying a/c parts to all major vehicle manufacturers all that i really need is the compressor bracket parts that like you say are different around the power steering pump.

if you are interested, then please let me know.

i would suggest keeping it to pm, but it might be useful for other people if we keep the discussion public so that we can share the knowledge.

the pump for the steering should be the same so its only a question of haging the brackets over
and i'm sure there re plenty of cossie p/s brackets about the place

swap them over in an afternoon and you can carry on driving, just need to get the right sized belts for it

the crankshaft polie (think is the correct english term) is not alligned with steering pump, but with a/c compressor. then another one, a little from inside, compressor to steering pump.

If I use a new belt without passing through a/c compressor but directly to steering pump, they are not alligned...

the bits that look wrong must be looking wrong because they are designed specificly for that car with the ac

if you get normal cosie pulleys and belts they hsould line up with everyting else

after all, if you can get the p/s pump and bracket from a normal 2wd cossie (i'm not sure if the 4wd ones are different) they you can swap it all over

take loads of pics and put then up so that we can all see what the problems are that you may be facing when doing the swap, lots of info wouldn't go amiss either

4x4 are different, as they use a serpentine poly-vee drive belt for all ancillaries

Cosworth-PT i have a 2wd that has it's engine in pieces for a rebuild at the moment, i could send you the parts that you need so that you could swap them over in a day as doji suggests. the only problem, is one of trust. how do i know that you will then send your parts to me, and what can i do about it if you don't? i would have to come out to portugal, hunt you down and kill you
