Default tut!!!

hi can anyone advise me on what to do


i went to halfords to get some gtx for my xr2i (8v injection) and i have come away with some 5w-30

which is fine ......but i have just noticed that i picked up the one that says FOR MODERN ENGINES


do i have to go through the hassle of taking it back and changing it or is this ok ?

What type of oil is it? (full synthetic, semi, etc)

gtx dnt lable their can fully symthetic or semi

it just says synthetic engineneering .......:5w-30 too thin (that book in halfords recommended it )

i would of thought it would be alright myself personally, but being an older engine the thinner oil may make it smoke, the only other thing, being a CVH, most tend to run a slightly thicker oil due to the nature of the top end, quietens it down a bit, ive got an RS though however and the recommended for mine goes as low as 0w40, at the moment im using 10w40 (cos my mate get its free )
