Default Not to slow for a stock CBR600 engine

just wanted to get peoples views on one of my uni projects, I'm involved in Formula Student where we have to design, build then race a car competeing against other uni's.

our 2005 cars spec was:

our car was one of the heaviest at the competition, but in the 0-75m sprint we managed to come 6th in the world out of about 125 uni's and we were the fastest N/A car there, with a time of 4.1 seconds, in which we also ran early in the morning at brunters, so other people had the advantage of the hot surface later with more rubber on the line. thought it was a good achivement for a stock engine in a heavy car......

We're using a KTM single cylinder engine this year..aiming for a sub-200kg car, MoTeC management with traction control, launch control etc, should be fun!

As in the pics im in the institute not the uni, but the course is aweome, really hands on, but very technical as well.

heeman10, that will be quick, and with the small engine the sub200kg mark is very realistic, what chassis type?

i think derby were there last year.
