Based on a brand new bodyshell (purchased fron Dagenham Motors for £ 890.00 + VAT IIRC).......The shell was delivered to Gartrac in Godolming, Surrey.
Gartrac did all the bodywork mods - including the distinctive bonded-on wheel arches.....Then the bodywhell was painted Ford Azure Blue at John Wlesh's place in Fleet (Hants) after that it was delivered to Turbo Technics in Aldershot where they built the 250 BHP engine - 2.8 Cologne V6 Turbo, and installed all the suspension/trim etc. Later the standard suspension was replaced with LEDA by Graham Hathaway (Maldon, Essex).
I got pics of the Fast Ford feature review (cover and 3 pages) if anyone wants me to post them up

I also owned a RWD Gartrac G6 for a couple of years (Q829 CPE) - was perl white, had the usual rivit corrosion showing through on the alloy arches when I bought it, got John Welsh to paint it Azure Blue.

Thanks for all the kind comments!
If the car still looked the same as it did back then I would be sooo tempted to buy it.........YB power rocks !!!!!
i did a lot off work on this car when i got it from doug, a very very long time ago, had the car for about 7 years and was going to cossy power it my self but didnt and sold it and got the escort i have now
could be so nice again but at 5k and a shed load more to spend on it to get it right it whould be better to go get an escort coss to start with, because as i found out when it comes to sell a car like this for strong money its hard to sell as people whould rather have a car that they know and can put a price on easy, than one they carnt and havent evern heard off
Whould be
to see a nice 400+ bhp engine, box and diffs and all the other bits in this car and see it out on track, thats if the shell is still ok
Whould be

......... sort of want to, but it does not make any sense money wise. As an example I just bought a nice Silver Saph 4x4 for a couple of K less then the reserve on that Gartrac........and of course the Saph came WITH a YB engine/ABS etc, but most importantly it came with good resale price more or less guarantied

BTW thanks for your help & advice in sorting out the workshop heating/pump setting etc - perfect now
