Despite what he's written in the text below I wonder where ebay would stand if you selectd the buy it now and told him you'd bought it and would only be paying him a tenner

Aye, he says use the buy it now to pay £250 for it though, but surely ebay would back you up if you clicked and intended to pay only a tenner as he is breaching their rules and trying o dodge their fees.
