quick OZ employment question..

Default quick OZ employment question..

if you have had a year working visa, can you get another year contract with a company..

basically my company have offices all over the world and a lad i work with just done a year with our melbourne office...

could I do this..? i guess its a years sponsorship? but has my opportunity gone?

lol! ok from my knowledge....

Once you have had your year back packer visa which can now be extended to 2 years if you have done 3 months harvest work in the first year from memory which isnt much good to you as you have used your year visa and at the time they didnt have that option.

What you would be looking at is company sponsorship or a secondment. My g/f's step bro and his g/f did that as they work for KPMG. They came to the UK for 3 months and then travelled for 3 months on a secondment scheme.

Sponsorship is seperate to what you were on.

Your visa enabled a maximum of 9 months work in the 12 month period in Australia with a maximum of 3 months in any one job. That is the rule of that visa.

Infact if you have been here and behaved yourself, it could work favourably as you have exposure to the culture and aware of the conditions around you.

You need to be under 30 for a working Visa.....well you do for NZ anyway!!
