hi all, can any one help me just built a 2.1 zvh and it runs really hot! i`v had it set up by harvy gibbs and he can`t explane why either!
i`v just notice tho that its got a piper 285 cam but i orderd a 285t2, so the only thing i can think of is that its keeping in the gases yo long!
and does any one know what cam is best for a 2.1 zvh? thanks

 

how do u no its runing hot r u just going of ya temp gauge inside the car,i also have a 2.1 zvh which ran hot in the red but bought water temp gauge and its at 70 deg on me gauge and in the red on the cars gauge there are shit,i have a 82 thermstate and a cossie fan switch to keep it cool

 

yeah im just going by the cars temp gauge! it is hot tho you can hear the water boiling i`v tried everything now! whay cam did you use?

 

have you got an air lock?
have you got a seperate swirl pot?

 

yeah i`v got a swirl pot i`v tried loads of differant race spec coolants nothing works! the minute you put your foot down its in the red! just as if its running lean but the fueling is fine!

 

i have piper 285t2 in mine get a water temp gauge and try it cos standard 1s arnt worth a wank, yeh could be a airlock.but mine was the same sat in the red all the time stil does in traffic but temp gauge goes to 80 max them twin fans kick in then it takes it down to about 60

 

i need to get an water gauge.
any recomendations?
need the gauge and fitting kit

dont zetecs run hot anyway
