Default Wiper fuse keeps blowing

Has anybody had or have the same issue. Does anybody have a solution, I am using the correct fuse(20)...It's becoming dangerous driving in the rain...Thanks..

The solution is to fix the short circuit. You will need an auto electrician if you can't sort it yourself.

Try disconnecting the wiper motor and putting another fuse in. If it still blows then it's a wiring fault. If it doesn't blow then it's the motor at fault.

Had this problem with my old MK5 run about. Constantly blowing the fuse, got to the point where it would blow when just turning ignition on changed un told fuses, wiper motor, arm etc etc still did it. AA were called in the end, looked at it for 5 mins and said....hmm could be motor or wiring, but that looks ok

Sold the car in the end It was well overdue anyway....

I'd look at the wiring if none of the above help....

No probs, apprently the MK5 escort is prone to this problem, not seen it on MK4's before but likely to be similar problem, likely to be the wiring to the fuse box some where. Let us know how you get on
