Hmmm. when i put one in, it asks me if i want to play it, rip music from it, open it and view files, or cancel. I click rip music(using WMP) and it goes into MY MUSIC folder.

cant you just insert the cd, right click the drive explore, and copy and paste into the folder you want?

What format you want to rip it to? mp3?
best proggie to do it is "audiograbber", once set up you put the cd in, press 2 buttons one to name the cd/tracks and one to rip it

Use Windows Media Player

You can set the player to Rip the tracks and where you want to put them

Its in "Tools" ---> "Options"

Then click the "Rip Music" tab. You can change the destination folder by clicking the "Change" button. And change it to Mp3 or WMA files.

Then when you put the CD in and play it trough WMP, you click the "Rip" tab at the top and it does it all for you.

HTH

As for Burning I use "Nero"
