Default lamba sensor add on kits, any good?

i remember reading in a mag a while ago about akit you put on and it gives you a dash display or something so you can see whats the fueling in doing.

anyone got one or anyone in the know about them can you give me some advise about them , or just general feedback on them

Lambda sensors and displays are only any good if they are wideband. Otherwise you might as well fit one of those xmas trees (lots of pretty twinkling lights) that truck drivers stick to their dash as that will be more use than the narrow band sensors.

As daz sed,

if the kits Ł300, then its most prob a wide band, but you will need to check.

If so, yes well worth it, but only if you know the fuelin figure you need to be lookin for.

I wouldnt run my cars with out one,

I wouldnt run my cars with out one,
once my engines been built and all run in and set up i will know, just want to keep a eye on it as the fuel pump started going ages ago and i didnt know this was the cause untill i had it checked, was lucky i didnt bust the engine as it was very lean,.

what sort you got mate as in make, model, will give me a starting point as ive tried looking on the net but its not coming up with much

ooooh i like nice numbers thought, lol

not to sure about this number though,

buy it now price: Ł279.99

very nice i have to say, but was thinking something on the cheaper side of things, not because im tight, of skint, but because of the fact my engine isnt gunna be a real beefed up lump or used for track etc, just after something that will do the job without pulling my pants down

basically mate the narrow band ones like the one you posted is crap, it doesn't read a wide enough band (as the name suggests) and is basically just a gimmick.

to actually have it a useful readout you HAVE to have wideband, and <Ł300 is one of the cheaper ones!

Check out the latest Performance Ford guys, we've tested one of the better ones out there against the 'industry standard' mega-expensive kit, and it did pretty bloody well!

whats this all about?
is it the same as what you posted up GARETH T
, but without the gauge, or just for use with a laptop or something?

if you want one you can datalog off, try this
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Innovate-LC-1-...QQcmdZViewItem

you would need a laptop to use it (or wire it into a narrow band gauge) and it would be accurate as its the same electronics as the one i showed earlyer!

im sure performance ford will show all

the wideband controller has a narrow band OUTPUT which you wire into the standard lambda ecu loom

will do mate, cheers.

not really after dater logging, but seeing as there is a kit about, is it possable to link it to a screen inside the car?

i asked a question a long time ago now about having stuff like bosst etc displayed on a screen in the car but was told the ecu was no good fo it, it was later car (someone said at the time about jap cars can do it) that could only have a system like this.

i know its getting away from the origanl question but i have never really looked into add on bits along these lines so appoligies for the "dumb" approach to all this

TBH mate i love making things for my car myself and doing the work to it my self, gives me a good sense of satisfaction to know ive done it, currently working on a set of quad headlights, to incorperate the indicator etc, but electronics are not really my thing mate, physical hands on building is my thing, i could do the electronics side if i had the board and all the bits and it needed putting together i could do that but designing it, way over my head mate.
wiring it all in etc would be easy but the electronics just aint my thing
