Default S2 doors

Right, Ive got my S2 doors, with the central locking, leccy mirrors and windows, and the looms for those. Anyone got any advice about fitting that little lot into my standard mk4?

Yes mate

Get yourself down the scrap yard and get the wiring looms out a mk4 that already has the items, you'll be there forever and a day without it unless your good with schematic wiring diagrams.....

I can probably find these items out for you if you cant find any locally

Nah is it fuck lol

They would plug straight in if the car had the wiring (FAT chance)

What model of escort is it?

Judging by the pic a 1.1 Popular or a 1.3L?

CROSSFLOW??????

Think u mean an OHV/HCS, unless the engine has been changed.

From the factory a G plate 1.3 will have a HCS (a later OHV with DIS)

Anyway, NO your car doesnt have the wiring

Ooooooo your guna have such fun i can feel it

Especially wiring in all those fused feeds into the fusebox!

Been there done that got pissed off, on an Orion Classic.

It may well be, i know nothing about crossflow!

They come as 3 seperate looms, one each for C/L, E/W, & E/M. Then there is also the wiring sections to go from the car into the doors (in the rubber boot things). I have some somewhere i believe, if not i can get some.

Do you have the switches for the mirrors and windows

Oh the only other thing worth mentioning, to fit the wiring as it was intended, means dash out

Yep, the full list of stuff I have is the doors themselves, 88spec cards, switches for the windows, dash surround with the mirror adjuster in, and the looms to go from the doors into the car.

Why the fuck didnt I just leave the bastard car standard. Ill be driving with a dented door until im 30 at this rate.

The things we do........?

Think yourself lucky you only have to change the doors, i wired the C/L into all 4 doors and tailgate, put the window winders in, routed all the wiring properly even wired it into the fuse box as it should be, then it got written off!!!!!!!!

Its not that bad, ive done lots now i can get a dash out in about 10-15 mins.

15-20 minutes? Bloody ell. Id rather take a whole weekend doing it mind, and wire it properly. Trouble is I dont have anything else I can drive.

Really irritating thing is my family had a ghia that got written off a while back, that would have had exactly the right wiring. It only slightly folded the shell too, should have torn it apart and kept bits.

yeah thats 10-15 minutes to get the dash out mind lol, not do the whole lot!! I wish i was that quick lol!!

Yeah the Ghia would of had the looms, but u would still have to get fused feeds for them! Unless u would of changed the main loom aswell (Fuck that).

what u guna do then?

U guna hunt some looms down?
