Default Suspension??

Hey peeps i am after some suggestions on what suspension to go for its mainly a road car so dont want it too hard but am doing Beford in Feb so it needs to be pretty sturdy at the same time

Just not sure if i can justify spending out on coilovers if there are cheaper options that are just as good for what i need

All help appreciated

if you're looking for a soft sus setup, then i wouldn't go for a spax psx kit, as they're quite hard, but it makes the car handle really well.

Problem with a lot of kits is that the shocks over damp. I usually use new standard dampers with a good quality spring kit. This is the setup I use on my own FRST although I shall be changing these for Koni's in the new year. I would say you are more than welcome to have a go in mine but it's going to be SORN until Fiesta in The Park next year

Despite what some children on other BB's will tell you coilovers are not the bee all and all of Fiesta suspension

Lou,

I've got the G-max full kit on mine, i managed to get it second hand with only low mileage on'em. Even new the kit (4x uprated dampers & 4x -35mm springs) is circa £180.00ish.

I'm hopefully going to get better stuff in the new year, but for the time being they seem to be upto the job......seeing as i drive everywhere like a man posessed!!

Guzzler has given me a good price on the full car set of powerflex bushes, a must i think if you are doing ya suspension.....just think, ya original bushes are 15 years or so old now

You can get Eibach springs from Elites in Rainham and ya Konis from Mr Rainbird prob

For about £300 or so, you can get ya car poly bushed and sitting on new suspension

Not being funny mate but out of the number of kits I have seen I wouldn't use them to weigh a dead body down with in a canal.

I had a G-Max kit fitted on our 2i and it ruined the car completely. Where I sused to be able to steer it on the throttle it just wanted to run wide all the time instead. The turn in was destroyed and the kit was binned very soon after. Unfortunately it nevr got the planned Koni's as some goon wrote it off a couple of weeks after the Performance Ford shoot

I'd agree with oranoco, i got warned off G-max kits by speedshack cos aparrently they're produced really cheaply and have loads of faults. the guy in the shop said he was constantly returning kits to the manufacturer. go for some konis or spax, its worth spending that bit more to get a quality set up.
