I would really like one but it has to be a cheapo due to my circumstances at the moment
I could borrow the cash for one off my old ma (bless her!) but as said, can't be too much. Seen a few floating about at this money with 5MP which seems reasonable.
Just worried that the ones I'm looking at are quoting different figures to what the pictures actually end up displaying.
Hopefully I can get my hands on something before boxing day.
Cheers once again, my feathered friends!

Don't just go for the highest MP number, get the best make you can for the money.
I've got a few digi cams (and had a few in the past) and they vary a lot (even the same makes) For instance I've got 2 Fuji digi cams, one is 3.2MP and one is a couple of years newer and 5MP and the older 3.2MP is MUCH better quality. I've also got some other (cheapo) 3.2MP camera and my mrs. phone blows it away!
My advice is to look at one of the digi camera review sites (like dp review) and make a choice based on what you find. You may be much better off getting an older discounted 3 or 4mp camera than a cheaper 5+MP camera

I'd be inclined to look for something like this canon A85, 4MP gets good reviews and if you're lucky you could get one for around £100 from this canon outlet on ebay (I bought a digtal SLR from them recently, years warranty etc)
