Right, 89 S2 escort indicate right all lights that are ment to be on are on so no problems, indicate left DIFFERENT story ALL indecators lights come on thats on the dash, both sides and front and rear. i have changed the stalk, unplugged the dash, replaced the relay and done visable checks for wirings that are friyed or shorting but i really cant see anything.

Does anyone else know of anything that i can do to fix this, (its holding it up from being MOT'd and watching it rot on my drive is doing my head in! any help would greatly be appreciated! many thanks

have you got an alarm by any chance

 

Theres a clifford on it. Checked all fuses on the alarm wiring also. any ideas bud?

 

The indicators have a constant earth, and the stalk merely switches the positive supply to them.

I was going to suggest the stalk as the hazard switch bridges both and supplies live, thought maybe it might have an internal short but if youve changed it it cant be that.

I reckon its the alarm

Try taking the fuses out (the indicators usually have a fused supply in the alarm loom) and see what happens then!

 

already done mate gonna take it to me local sparky and get them to fix it i cannot stand anymore indicators lol more money into the bottomless pit

 

makesure all the fuses/relays are pushe din the fuse box properly, mine went funny when one wasnt pushed fully in.
