Default Anyone good with mail merge documents?

I have a problem where by a few users access some mail merge documents which are all held in one primary place (on the server). The problem is that recently another user has started accessing these files and they have been recieving an error:

"File name" is a mail merge main document. Word cannot find its data source, path\file name.

It seem's existing users of these documents don't have this problem. The work around for the user with the said problem is to manually locate the data source and save the file. The implications of this are that the other users then recieve the above error message when accessing the file.

I've already done some research and have done as described here: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/275934 (Method 1 - as the data source still exists, but again the problem re-occours) This seems about the closest match to the problem being experienced.

Another link here: http://support.microsoft.com/default...b;en-us;318532 but I don't think this is the exact problem.

I'm not sure if this is a common problem with mail merge documents, I've not much experince with them to be honest, so any help would be greatfully recieved!

Thanks in advance.

Oh, and to add: All machines are Win2k SP4, Office 2k SP3.
